The American Preparatory Institute is a private school that provides an opportunity for students who have difficulty adjusting to a public school environment or completing state graduation requirements with an alternative way to obtain their high school diploma. API high school curriculum incorporates Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards, National Study of School Education (NSSE) procedures, and the Secretary’s Commission on Achieving Necessary Skills (SCANS) standards into all curriculum used in the API high school completion program.

The API Adult High School Program is a self-paced, open entry/open exit high school completion program.
